What’s the first thing I look for in a restaurant?

Not very tough to answer if you know me. Good service and smiling faces. Even if the staff is under pressure, if they don’t show it, it makes the dining out experience very pleasurable.  It also makes such a nice difference and ushers in so much positivity that even if a dish turns out to be a little off, we tend to be more forgiving.

Fio Cookhouse & Bar at the Epicuria mall in Nehru Place felt like a comfortable place at first sight and as we spent quite a lot of time there, the pleasant service and lovely, relaxed ambience grew on me.
There’s none of that silent, unapproving treatment that you get at a lot of places when you have two boisterous kids in tow. Colouring sheets and crayons to take away, kept them busy, as well as conversing with the friendly servers there.

Lots of light, both inside and outside the restaurant, set in a pebbled garden path added to the relaxing ambience.
As for the food: very superlative fare when it came to the pizzas and lasagnas, I must say. Fresh, piping hot and quality ingredients are what they use. The pork chops, however, need to be more tender, a common problem I seem to find in quite a lot of restaurants.

The menu has an interesting mix of European fare, along with Indian popular dishes and some distinctive cocktails thrown in for good measure.

Ambience, service, location and most of the food menu gets a big thumbs up. Go, eat!
